Enjoy this lovely hand-loomed mohair and lambswool blanket from Mantas Ezcaray, a small family-owned company in Northernmost Spain where a textile tradition of highly sought after woolens dates back to the 1500’s.

Mohair is a silk fabric made from the hair of the Angora Goat. Both durable and resilient, mohair is notable for its high luster and sheen. This distinguishable characteristic has helped give it the nickname "Diamond Fiber". Mohair is warm in winter as it has excellent insulating properties, while remaining cool in summer due to its moisture wicking properties. It is durable, naturally elastic, flame resistant, and is considered to be a luxury fiber.

From non-toxic washing and dyeing to a painstakingly hand-crafted finished product, each piece bears the artisanal signature passed down from centuries of skilled carders, shearers, dyers, and weavers.
