Founder's Finds

Owner Mark Werts recently returned from his biannual European buying trip with an abundance of new goods- everything you could wish for in a home!

Mark shared the mindset behind his buying with us, starting with our drinkware collections:

At Maison Midi, we pride ourselves on the quality and uniqueness of our drinkware. Most of our pieces are bought and imported directly from the Mediterranean coast, or are styles that are native to that area. From bistrot to bar glasses and everything in between, our vast array of drinkwares is sure to have something that fits your personal needs!

One of our best kept secrets that we share with our customers is the amazing "glassware" collection from Mario Luca Giusti. Direct from Florence, these beautifully colored acrylic pieces are perfect for lounging poolside or elevating your kids' sippy cups. Your friends won't believe they aren't glass!

Since we love color so much here at Maison Midi, we had to gather an extended variety of Morrocan tea glasses of all different designs and hues. Our selection is unlike any you've ever seen, and the beautiful items can also double as tealight votives or be inserted into your interior decor for pops of color.

We carry many styles of blown glass direct from artisans in Murano, Italy and Biot, France--towns famed for their dedication to the craft for centuries. The glasses are hand-blown and usually take at least an hour per item, and the color is preserved in the fire to avoid fading or degradation by wash. You can visit both of these islands and blow glass yourself; it's even safe for children. I brought my 4-year old twins along to try it; Iggy was afraid he might burn his lips on the blowing pipe, but was pleasantly surprised that it was ok!
